GUARDING THE THRESHOLD TO OUR POTENTIALITY, FEAR CONSUMES OUR ASPECTS AS WE INSIST ON IT
You need only watch the evening news to see how fear driven humanity has become. So much of what the media presents displays and exacerbates our fears that we have to wonder, how much of our daily individual experience includes fear? Do we need fear? Can we live without it?
From my experience, I can tell you that the longer I treat fear as a signal to feel my total connection to life, and have faith that what will happen next will be in accordance with my highest potential, the less fear I experience. Things that triggered fear 5 years ago do not now. By not allowing the feeling to become emotion, (feeling becomes emotion by including memories of other fearful experiences or dread of future difficulties,) the fear is quelled. What comes up more and more now instead of fear, is a mild interest, sometimes amusement, but always faith that what is occurring is reflecting to me what I need to recognize in the moment.

It is not possible to find harmony in our lives when it is filled with fear. Sometimes letting go of fear is as easy as taking a deep breath, and finding our faith or compassion in the moment. Sometimes it is as difficult as a dark night of the soul, where we face our fear by understanding that what we fear is a part of us, and accepting the divinity of all that we are by letting go of every ”thing” in our experience.
The emotion of fear needs to be recognized and released, so that we can feel our harmony. Life with an unattached and fearless viewpoint allows us to live in tune with the infinite.

"Sometimes letting go of fear is as easy as taking a deep breath, and finding our faith or compassion in the moment."
That is wonderful! I know that when I hold on to my fears, they seem to grow out of control, and take over my life. I'm learning to let them go. Great post:)
These are both great comments, thank you, and I wholeheartedly agree.
Insofar as we can deal with them, and overcome them, I think that fears indicate something important to us; we get a chance to reflect when we ask why we fear. cheers
Yes, a very good post here Molly. We can never learn to handle things unless we meet them head on, in the moment of here and now. I see that if an experience of fear is there, it is a conditioned response. We can get to erase all such conditioned responses through looking right at them, and through them. They are past-based, therefore illusory. We don't need to be controlled by fear. We only need to respond to the reality of an immediate physical threat should one arise.

"That which binds our heart is fear, fear because maybe we have been tortured or troubled by somebody in the past and so our heart is closed or perhaps we have frightened others and so we are fearful that they may do the same to us. Aggressiveness is malignant and creates a cancer, and then we start reacting. There should be no reaction to anything, and no aggression."
Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi
we should develop the witness state, by witnessing our fear, we can let it go..Separate your self from the fear and identify with the Spirit.
thank you for your comment on my blog.
Enjoy the silence..
Thank you for the article, for the wisdom that fills your verses. When emotions of fear are recognized, they become the building bricks of art light - as the fear as the shadow reflects the same infinity and expresses the same need to comprehend in order to become free.
Just found this quote from Krishnamurti. Love it: "Fear is the common state of all mankind, whether you live in a small house or in a palace, whether you have no work or plenty of work, whether you have tremendous knowledge about everything on earth or are ignorant, or whether you are a priest or the highest representative of god, or whatever, there is still this deep rooted fear which is common to all mankind. That is a common ground on which all humanity stands. There is no question about it. It is an absolute, irrevocable fact, it cannot be contradicted. As long as the brain is caught in this pattern of fear its operation is limited and therefore can never function wholly. So it is necessary, if humanity is to survive completely as human beings and not as machines, to find out for oneself whether it is possible to be totally free from fear." - The Network of Thought Chapter 5
